Ilse Pedler

Ilse has a Diploma of Homeopathy and is a member of the British Association of Veterinary Herbalists, The Raw Feeding Society, The British Veterinary Association, she is currently Senior vice president of the British Association of Homeopathic Veterinary Surgeons (BAHVS)
Ilse qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Cambridge University and has worked as a veterinary surgeon for over 30 years.
She ran a busy practice in North Essex before ‘retiring’ to the Lake District in 2020 and starting a small business specialising in complementary therapies.
Ilse has always had an interest in complementary therapies and studied with the Homeopathic Physicians Teaching Group (HPTG) in Oxford, gaining the Diploma of Homeopathy in 2001. She went on to study Chinese traditional medicine and acupuncture and more recently herbal medicine and laser therapy. She was made a Fellow of the Faculty of Homeopathy in 2023. .
In her spare time Ilse writes poetry and was honoured to win the Mslexia Pamphlet Competition in 2015. Her Pamphlet The Dogs That Chase Bicycle Wheels is available from Seren and and her first full collection Auscultation was published in 2021, also by Seren, and contains many poems about animals and her life as a veterinary surgeon.
