Slow Flow Yoga with Alison Marsden - repeats weekly.

Slow Flow Yoga is a gentle form of yoga combining Qi Gong with yoga poses. The class uses gentle Hatha yoga poses to release tension and regain your flexibility. In Alison's sessions, the mindful process of the Alexander Technique is also embedded into the movement.

We start with a 15 minutes breathing process lying down and finish with a chakra sound bath with a yoga nidra to complete the two hour session. Journey to Health: Learn the Art of the Shamanic Journey

One Day Workshop at Synergy Health Kendal 10am – 5pm with Liz McWatt.

Booking essential (see details below). For more information, get in touch with Liz McWatt direct on 07725 738358 or by email at Liz@holistic-healing.org.uk

About the workshop

This is a beginner’s course that will teach you what Shamanism is, and the basic skills of how to safely perform a shamanic healing on yourself and others.

As we encounter life’s journey, we all need access to help and support at different times in different ways. At Synergy Health Kendal, we aim to offer a range of different treatments that support on all levels - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual - for individuals to choose a path that suits their own health and wellbeing journey.

You will come away from this day having experienced doing your own healing session and how to connect with your power animal. You will also learn other effective ways of retrieving power which you can easily repeat at home.

These new skills can help you to transform your relationships with yourself, others and the natural world around you enabling you to move forward in your life with more authority.

This is largely an experiential workshop with some theory, some creative visualisation and more than one practical experience of doing your own shamanic journey.

Explore the power of the shamanic journey – the most ancient of spiritual healing practices which has survived throughout the world since hunter-gatherer times

Experience undertaking the shamanic journey for yourself.

Learn  how to retrieve your personal power, restore the dynamic of power in relationship with others and how to thrive in your life.

What will you learn?

  • You will learn how to create your own sacred space and set clear boundaries with spirit

  • You will learn how to prepare yourself for undertaking a successful journey

  • You will learn about the origins of shamanism & how a shaman perceives reality

  • You will learn how to enter into a journey

  • You will have the opportunity to connect with your power animal to receive healing

  • You will learn how to retrieve & be connected to your personal power

From Liz, the workshop leader:

“One of the things I love about shamanic healing is its accessibility for all. Hardwired into all of us, this is how our ancestors healed themselves until relatively recently in human times - it is a skill you can easily wake up!

“You don't need to be special or particularly experienced to have thoroughly enriching experiences through shamanic journeying.

“Journey for Health is a one-day experiential workshop which will take place in the lovely healing space that is Synergy Health Clinic in Kendal town centre, situated right next to the river. You will learn:

  • The basic etiquette of navigating shamanic realities

  • How to create sacred space

  • How to set good ritual boundaries

  • How to engage in a shamanic journey

  • How to meet and work with your personal power animal”

“Additionally, we will take a look at the importance of reclaiming this way of relating to the natural world to benefit not only your own wellbeing but the complex sentient community of all of the non-human people's who also exist in this world we inhabit.

“You will leave this workshop with new skills you can put into practice from day one to support both your own and loved ones' well-being in every respect.”

What kind of things can be healed with shamanic healing?

The important thing is that you have a clear aim of what you want to achieve when you start the journey. You can ask for healing and insight into any life situation and see what your power animal or guides come up with.

From Liz, the workshop leader: “The most common thing I ask my guides to do for me is healing; sometimes that’s just a general and I see where they go with it and sometimes it is very specific. For example ‘Please help me heal my…..’ or ‘Please show me…….’ .”

Issues clients commonly bring to shamanism for healing:

  • A sense of never being well since …

  • Feelings of being lost in life

  • Hopelessness and despair, feeling completely disempowered

  • Healing for unhealthy family patterns, ancestral issues

  • Healing of previous abuse or trauma

  • Various physical health issues

  • A knowing they need soul retrieval

  • Healing after relationship breakdown

  • Release from unhealthy relationships

  • Something is missing from my life!

  • Healing for pets

  • Being stuck in unhealthy behaviour patterns

  • Healing of addictions

  • Anxiety or fear

  • Low self esteem

  • Poor boundaries

  • Unwanted psychic intrusions

How could I use shamanism usefully if I have little experience or skill?

The only skill you really need is to be able to trust yourself, and what you are experiencing in the journeys and to follow your guides.

Liz, the workshop leader says: “Once you have asked your guides for help, they always lead the journey. The most important guide you will ever have will be your power animal and you will connect with this incredible source of power and knowledge on this workshop. In time, you may meet other guides, should you continue to learn & develop your skills on this path. Some of the most powerful journeys I have had occurred in my early days of learning about shamanism. Your guides do all the work!”

Does Shamanism contradict my religious faith?

Shamanism is not a religion; it is a way of spiritual living in connection with the sacred essence of nature. It is no different than meditating, prayer, pilgrimage, vigils etc.. These sorts of religious practices connect the us to spirit but they don’t tell us what to believe. Shamanism is no different to this. Various cultures around the world have embraced shamanism alongside different religious beliefs.

Is doing a shamanic journey safe?

Shamanic realities are very safe - it is the middle world where we already are now that can be more challenging!

You will be taught how to create sacred space in which to journey, the importance of good boundaries with spirit and how to journey safely.

Your power animal, once connected will always look after you and keep you safe.

This one day workshop is for you if:

  • You are ready to learn a powerful form of self-healing

  • You want to connect more deeply with nature

  • You seek a deeper sense of connection in your life

  • You are ready to learn how to empower yourself

  • You seek a deeper sense of spiritual connection.

Learn the language of relating to the natural world around you in a new and deeply authentic way that nourishes your soul.

Connecting with your power animal is a transformative experience. Meet and partner with your power animal – a tremendous healer and teacher – and form a transformative bond to nourish your life and help you truly claim your inner authority.

Booking essential.

Price: £75* per person. £35 deposit to secure your place. *concessions available upon request
